AAHU is hosting a panel of experts on the growing Opioid crisis that Alaska is currently facing.  The panel includes professionals from the medical, educational, and treatment occupations that have experience with this expanding crisis. 

The luncheon will commence at 11:00 with AAHU news and updates.  The Panel will then begin at 11:15 with introductions by the participants.  Speakers will then provide our AAHU Members with background on their experience with the crisis, and how they envision Alaskans getting the crisis back on track.  There will be time allotted for questions or commentary from the membership.

PANEL OF SPEAKERS:

Dr. Joann Bartley – works at UAA and formulated a class on opioid addiction and treatment

Dr. Ilona Farr – owns Alaska Family Medical Care and has extensive experience with Opioid treatment

Andy Jones – works for the State of Alaska Division of Public Health and worked on the State of Alaska Opioid Task Force

Paula Colescott – Worked as a consultant for UAA on the fall semester course “The Opioid Crisis: The path to addiction, the Road to Recovery”.
