NEW TIME AND DATE FOR THE AAHU MEMBER MEETING!
Since we are unable to meet for lunch, we have moved the meeting to 'Coffee Talk' time starting at 9:00am. In an effort to continue to provide quality content and continuing education (1CE Credit), we will be charging $20 for Members and $25 for Non-Members. If you have any questions regarding these changes, feel free to reach out to our AAHU President, Marshall Pickering, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The meeting will commence with AAHU news and updates and our guest speaker immediately thereafter. There will be time allotted for questions or commentary from membership.
SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER:
Human Resources Director, Arc of Anchorage
Shirley Kelly has nearly 20 years of HR experience and 10 years as an Adjunct Professor. Her professional career started with working 16 years in the legal field, then onto supporting different business lines such as government contracting, accounting and auditing, engineering and architecture, and behavioral health and disabilities. With a master’s degree specializing in Human Resources and certified as a Senior Certified HR Professional, she has proven success partnering with multiple organizations and brings experience and knowledge of the broad spectrum of human resources and organizational structure and processes to help create an engaged and healthy workforce.
When employees are engaged at work, they are your biggest asset. The million-dollar question is how do we engage employees? It’s not an easy answer because employees are motivated by different facets of backgrounds, beliefs and values. By conducting thorough engagement surveys, you can obtain real data to affect change through intentional action plans, focus groups, and pulse surveys. Shirley's presentation will explore the different facets of employee engagement and areas where you can obtain data which can produce an engaged workforce hence reducing turnover and increasing profitability.
